SPT Borings with PVC Casing for Borehole Geophysics
Shady Hills Power Company Expansion – 14240 Merchant Energy Way, Spring Hills, Florida
ATI Companies Drilling Team conducted Geotechnical Drilling with a CME 45B with Automatic Hammer at a site for the expansion of the Shady Hills Power Company
A Truck Mounted CME 45B with automatic hammer was used to drill 20 SPT borings to 80 ft and one to 30 ft with sampling every 10 feet. Installation of 30’ PVC casing provided the capability to take Borehole Geophysical readings.
The Soil Samples were immediately handled by the client to assess the organic vapor content. The key pollutant found was TCE – Tetra-chlorine Ethane. Organic Vapor Assessment (OVA) on site technology was used by the client to obtain immediate results using a Flame Ionization Detector (FID).
Project Services
- Install twenty (20) SPT borings to 80 ft and one (1) SPT boring to 30 ft. SPT (with automatic hammer) continuously to 10 ft and 5 ft center
- Install 3" PVC casing to 80 ft each for borehole geophysics reading on the borings. Grout once the work is completed.
- Grouted boreholes once work was completed
