Coring, Boring and Well Installation at TIA. Monitoring Wells were finished with Aircraft Rated Bolt Down Manhole manufactured by CAVOTEC to comply with requirements for the tarmac.
Tampa International Airport – Airside D | HCAA – Hillsborough County Aviation Authority
ATI Companies Drilling Team completed a DPT Drilling, Sampling and Monitoring Wells installations project at the Tampa International Airport which included 30 Soil Borings to approximately 15 ft below land surface and the installation of 10 - 2 inch Monitoring Wells to 15 ft below land surface, via Direct Push Technology (DPT) methods. The Monitoring Wells were installed using auger attachments.
Using a Geoprobe 7730 DT, Ambient Technologies, Inc. (ATI) was able to accomplish the required Scope Of Work which included Concrete Coring for every location and the installation of 12 inch by 8 inch Aircraft Rated Bolt Down Manhole manufactured by CAVOTEC. These are reinforced manholes with fiberglass casing extending down approximately 18-inches.
Soil Borings were grouted and patched once completed. Monitoring Wells required development of up to 30 minutes. The Concrete Coring needed at the tarmac was 16 inches with 8-inches of crushed concrete base underlying for a total of 24 inches.
